Description

This student position within the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) is primarily responsible for reception desk and clerical duties, such as greeting visitors and staff, answering multi-line phones, checking-in/out of resources/books from the CTE library, registering workshop participants, and providing excellent customer service to CTE visitors and staff. In addition, this position assists visitors with technology-related questions and should have experience using LCC's systems.

Must be service-minded, possess excellent interpersonal skills. Should be well-organized and capable of completing all assignments/responsibilities in a timely manner with little prompting. Able to work independently as well as part of a team. This environment requires a person with a positive attitude, good humor, patience, and flexibility.

Preferred Work Availability & Schedule:

Candidates must be available Monday through Friday and able to work an opening or closing shift in the CTE two to three days per week. We currently have a need for someone whose availability includes Monday & Wednesday, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

CTE Open Hours:
8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Thursday
8:00AM - 4:00PM Friday

Education and Experience

The following requirements apply each semester, in order to maintain eligibility and continue working as a student employee:

- Enrolled & actively attending is required to maintain employment eligibility (i.e. minimum LCC credit hours by semester):

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits

- International students with an F-1 visa and valid I-20 issued by LCC must meet the following minimum enrollment/credit requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS) regulations:

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits
- Minimum 2.0 GPA or have approval to waive requirement unless it is the student’s first semester of enrollment at LCC

- Must be at least 18 years of age and/or a high school graduate who is at least 17 with a valid, signed work permit

Hours per Week: Up to 25 Hours

Hourly Wage: $9.60
