Lecturer or Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor in Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures in the College of the Liberal Arts is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, multi-year position in German beginning August 2019. The successful candidate will serve as Language Coordinator. As Language Coordinator, the successful candidate will supervise, train, and evaluate teaching assistants, monitor language placement and assessment, work on curriculum/program design, and contribute to program building. Ph.D. in German preferred, ABDs considered. Typical teaching load is six courses per year (three courses per semester) with one course release per year for coordination of basic language sequence. Potential courses include introductory, intermediate and advanced German language classes, literature and culture (including visual culture), business German, and linguistics. Native or near-native fluency in German and English, plus college teaching and supervisory experience are expected. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes benefits.
