Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology

Department: Curriculum and Foundations

Position: Assistant Professor – Tenure Track

Duties: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in educational psychology and human development in face-to-face, online, or blended modes, including coursework integrated with fieldwork in local schools; conducting and publishing results of research; advising undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students; possibly teaching other courses in the department; and providing services to the university and broader community.

Qualifications: Minimum: Completion of all requirements for doctorate by July 1, 2019 in educational psychology, human development or related field; two years of K-12 teaching experience or equivalent.

Preferred: Teaching experience beyond the minimum requirement (K-12 or college-level); experience integrating fieldwork in teacher preparation coursework; experience in urban or multicultural settings; experience with the use of technologies and tools for online or blended teaching; evidence of scholarly activity or potential; experience in grant writing; expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative methods; and the potential to teach courses in other areas such as gifted and talented, social foundations, research methods, or curriculum and instruction. Hiring is contingent on maintaining existing levels of funding from the state. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications. Nine-month, tenure track positions include a competitive benefits package and potential summer appointments.
