Assistant Director for Student Advocacy and Intervention

Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director for Student Advocacy and Intervention. The Assistant Director will oversee a caseload of student referrals and manage numerous student advocacy and intervention processes within the Dean of Students Office.

Duties include, but are not limited to: managing Faculty Absence Alert, Attendance Notification, Emergency Housing/Food Insecurity Response, Benevolence Funding for Student Emergencies, Student Respondent Support for Title IX Investigations, and Semester Completion Coordination; managing a caseload of advocacy and intervention cases via electronic reporting database (Maxient); communicating with the Chant Intervention Team, Threat Assessment Team, and other administrators; serving as after-hours/on-call student support; developing and maintaining relationships with campus and community partners; and assisting with outreach efforts.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and professional experience to include previous experience in a related area are required. Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Social Work, Public Policy or related field and three (3) years of related experience in a higher education setting, non-profit organization, or K-12 school system as a counselor, social worker or case manager are preferred. Experience as a graduate assistant/associate in Student Affairs, counseling, or social work role will also be considered as professional experience. This position requires some evening and weekend hours.
