The Research Development Officer (RDO) undertakes a variety of duties to provide direct support to faculty and staff as they pursue funding in support of research, teaching and service projects. The Research Development Officer will help UO faculty, administrators, and staff develop competitive external grant proposals, including those submitted to the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Education, USDA, Department of Defense, National Endowment for the Arts, other federal and state agencies, foundations, and other funding sources to support faculty from a wide range of disciplines. The RDO will also support competitive internal award programs led by the VPRI and interface with the Office of the Provost to nominate outstanding UO faculty for prestigious national honors and awards. This position will also coordinate with the Director of Strategic Research Initiatives to develop resources and training sessions to help UO investigators prepare competitive proposals for external funding.
