Required Qualifications: (As evidenced by an attached resume)

Ph.D. in nuclear or high energy physics by December 31, 2018. Experience with data analysis of Heavy Ion Experiments at RHIC or LHC. Knowledge of C++, Root and/or Geant

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience of analysis of electromagnetic probes. Supervision of students on research projects. Knowledge of PHENIX experiment

Brief Description of Duties:

The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The Posdoc will lead the PHENIX data analysis efforts of the Relativistic Heavy Ion group at Stony Brook. This includes analysis of thermal photon radiation and heavy flavor production.

  • Analysis of PHENIX data.
  • Publication and dissemination of results
  • Supervision of day to day work of students on their research projects.
  • Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.
Special Notes: The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding.
