Job Summary

A position is available immediately for a Professional Research Assistant in the lab of Dr. Robert Garcea in the BioFrontiers Institute. As part of a joint project with the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, you will be working on creating next generation vaccines for use in developing countries. You will begin working with the current PRA on the project, progressing to a more independent role working on various aspects of the project, as required.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

This position will require work with, but not limited to, ELISA, Bradford assays, protein expression, bacterial culture, cell culture, lyophilization, and SEM. You will also assist in basic lab maintenance and chores (dishes, autoclaving, making reagents and buffers).

You will be expected to learn quickly and work independently and efficiently.

What We Require

A Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, or related field.

What You Will Need

Ability to follow directions and keep excellent notes, pay attention to detail, communicate well and work in a dynamic environment.

What We Would Like You To Have

2 years of lab experience is preferred.
