Job Summary:

This position serves as the executive assistant to the dean and the key administrative support for the law school's senior leadership team. Working with the Dean and Associate Deans, you will support an innovative, hands-on administration and interact with students, staff, faculty, alumni and the broader law school, university and legal community. You will be consulted and involved in decision-making, planning and advancement activities at the Law School and will be an energetic and active part of a vibrant, fast-moving and responsive administration. This position is expected to possess or quickly acquire an extensive knowledge of faculty hiring, tenure and promotion procedures, and to work daily with confidential matters involving personnel, budget, development and fundraising. By the nature and location of the position, the incumbent is privy to confidential records, correspondence and conversations that directly affect the employer-employee relationship referred to in s.11.81(7)(1) Wis. Stats.

Responsibilities include coordinating various activities and committees, establishing and maintaining communication links, reading and applying regulations and policies, recordkeeping and reporting, and establishing and managing information flow. This position requires exemplary oral/written communication skills, human relations skills and has extensive professional contact with individuals and institutions both internal and external to the Law School.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to courteous, sincere, and sensitive customer service, and present a friendly, positive, patient, tolerant attitude in all personal and telephone interactions, as well as a positive image of the Law School. Consistently exercise courtesy, accuracy and professionalism and strive to maintain a cooperative relationship with students, faculty, staff and visitors.
