Degree and Area of Specialization:
Master's degree in Food Science or related field preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Two years of work experience in sensory science in the food industry or research setting preferred. Must possess general understanding of food science, dairy processing, food preparation, statistics and experimental design. Familiarity with sensory methods and techniques (descriptive, discrimination, affective tests, etc.) and sensory software is highly desirable. Must be passionate, adaptable, and willing to grow and work in a team environment. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills to track multiple concurrent projects, and strong computer skills.
License or certificate:
This position will serve as the Sensory Coordinator in the Center for Dairy Research. In that role, the position will be responsible for the sensory analysis of food projects, with emphasis on cheese, dairy ingredients, or other foods where dairy ingredients are used, in support of industry and internal applications research.
