Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

-At least two years of experience required in higher education with developed understanding of the university's academic mission (e.g., teaching, curriculum, assessment)
-Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
-Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative developing innovative solutions
-Experience consulting or advising on complex processes desirable
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of work
-Advanced experience with databases, spreadsheets, or other query analysis tools highly desirable

Position Summary:

The Academic Planner provides expert-level support to faculty and staff in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) regarding courses, academic programs, and governance processes. The incumbent will review proposals, consult with proposers, support the college's academic governance bodies, and assist the associate and assistant deans in regards to academic planning. The Academic Planner joins the CALS Office of Academic Affairs, which supports the college's academic and student services, including career services, study abroad, recruitment, transitional advising, and scholarships. The Academic Planner reports to the Assistant Dean for Academic Programs and Planning.
