Summary of Job Duties

Operate and maintain equipment- hay balers, hay rakes, bush-hogs, plows, planters, fertilizer buggys, mowers. Build and repair conventional and electric fences. General facilities maintenance such as painting, repair water leaks, yard mowing, weed eating. Assist with crop production- bale, move, and store hay, round bales and square bales. Service machinery- lubricate, check fluids, belts and chains, minor equipment repairs. Assist Program Associates with livestock research data collection. Feed, vaccinate, medicate, handle research livestock.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.

Physical Conditions The employee is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside., The employee is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity., The employee is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity., The employee is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level., The employee is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body., The employee is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts or vehicles, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to chemicals, biological, radiological or hazardous materials., The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
