Position Summary: The Case Manager facilitates student access to, and appropriate utilization of, University and / or community resources and services. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Students and is critical to the Office of the Dean of Students' efforts to address and support the on-going needs of students and to promote their personal and academic success. It is expected that this position effectively collaborates and consults with students, faculty, staff, parents / families, as well as other Office colleagues. The Case Manager plays an integral role in the case management efforts of the Office of the Dean of Students including the Care Team, and additionally supports case management efforts for Carolina Housing. With relevant and sufficient experience, this position may serve in an on-call role.

Education Requirements: Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or other graduate/professional degree in a relevant field of study.

Qualification and Experience: Required Work Experience -A minimum of two years relevant full-time professional post-Master's experience (two years of directly relevant experience as a graduate assistant or intern equals one year); -Demonstrated ability to navigate complex and fast-paced crisis situations with sensitivity; -Experience in crisis intervention, advocacy, referrals, on-and-off campus service coordination, problem-solving, and help with individuals who are impacted by traumatic, disruptive, or disturbing life events; -Demonstrated experience working effectively in teams and individually in a fast-paced environment; -Demonstrated understanding of issues of diversity and inclusion; -Experience developing and implementing training programs, presentations, and/or educational opportunities to faculty, staff, and students; -Proven ability to prioritize work appropriately and adapt easily to changing priorities as well as work independently on multiple tasks and deal effectively with conflicting priorities; -Candidates must have a willingness to work some evenings and weekends. Preferred Skills and Competences -Three years relevant full-time professional post-Master's experience in higher education or related comparable field; -Current knowledge and experience applying best practices and appropriate legal / procedural regulations related to addressing students of concern; -Demonstrated knowledge of college student development theory; -Demonstrated experience and in-depth understanding of higher education case management and Care/Behavioral Intervention Teams; -Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in promoting respect and appreciation for diversity and inclusion among students, faculty, staff, and families; -Understanding of the University environment, ability to work collaboratively with on and off-campus partners, and build and sustain relationships with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, parents / families, and community partners to address a wide array of situations; -Experience handling confidential and sensitive information and situations with diplomacy exercising excellent judgment that is congruent with federal, state, and university policy; -Superior critical thinking and organization skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; -Excellent oral and written communication, including experience conducting presentations for varied audiences; -Experience developing and administrating program/service assessments.
