Job Description Summary:

The Administrative Supervisor, Classroom Services provides the day-to-day operational management and oversight of SMHS - wide classroom services functions for the faculty, staff and students of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Specific responsibilities include:
• Manages multiple administrative staff members as well as the clerical/administrative support productivity by managing workflows, overseeing performance quality, and conducting annual reviews. Ensures that subordinate staff members are properly trained and knowledgeable regarding operations of classroom services.
• Works with the faculty and staff to provide quality classroom services for the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and certificate programs of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and supports administrative departments with scheduling needs.
• Provides scheduling application training to power-users in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
• Oversees all classrooms to ensure that rooms are operational and the furniture, equipment, etc., are set-up and in good repair.
• Develops SOPs for classroom services operations.
• Prepares annual classroom services budget for submission to senior management; composes operational and financial reports; and reconciles office expense budgets.
• Manages AV equipment installation projects and collaborate with AV vendors to review quotes and proposals. Effectively makes purchase recommendations to management for classroom upgrades, implementation; and coordinates the refurbishment and/or acquisition of classroom furnishings.
• Prepares various communications and utilization reports.
• Provides support to events management staff to ensure that School of Medicine and Health sciences functions are properly scheduled and implemented.
• Coordinates and/or participates in assignments aimed at improving the academic and research needs of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Participates on internal/external committees by providing input and receiving feedback on various issues that may affect classroom usage and users.
• Manages and Updates Resource Management and Operations website.
• Serves as a liaison with computing and academic support services (CASS) to set-up classroom support, troubleshoot problems and resolve equipment issues.
• Provides one-on-one scheduling software training to end users.
• Serves as back up to Event Coordinator by assisting with SMHS Event logistics and scheduling.
• Enhances professional knowledge and skills by attending training workshops/seminars to expand knowledge of best practices in classroom technology, and reviews published literature.
• Performs other work-related duties as requested. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Higher Education environment.
• Experience with managing a team of individuals.
• Professional experience supporting senior level individual contributors and/or executives.
• High level of proficiency in Room/Event Scheduling Software.
• Ability to multi-task, analyze, evaluate, develop and implement improvements to a variety of work processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Typical Hiring Range $47,500 - $66,500 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
