General Summary

Provide support in coordinating the University's Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity programs, including Title VII, Veteran and Individuals with Disabilities programs. Under moderate supervision, provide on-going data analysis and audit support for affirmative action and other areas of human resources. This classification is also responsible for investigating allegations of discrimination.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate with appropriate HR team members and third party vendors to ensure complete, accurate transfer of data from each system to prepare affirmative action plans, compliance requests and/or reports.

Receives and investigates formal discrimination complaints; identifies and interviews critical witnesses, request information relevant to the investigation from appropriate departments or agencies; analyzes witness comments, written statements and other relevant information received regarding the investigation; writes reports and issues findings of fact, determinations, and recommendations in discrimination complaints.

Provide statistical information for division heads regarding goals and availability for faculty and staff.

Coordinate data preparation activities in connection with OFCCP compliance audits. Ensure timely production of data requests.

Analyze data quantitatively and qualitatively to identify trends, strengths and weaknesses in recruitment, and achievement of affirmative action goals. Analyze employment statistics concerning discrimination in employment in the areas of interviewing, hiring, promoting, training, and terminating, and complaint investigation.

Collaborate and consult with staffing organizations to assess and maintain process compliance with EEO/AA-related laws.

Serve as a strategic partner and consultant to managers on EEO/AA issues to promote a positive work environment.

Make recommendations to management team.

Provide advice and guidance to all levels of management regarding EEO/AA related laws and sound administrative practices.

Assist Director with preparation, communication and implementation of AAP.

Maintain current knowledge of AA/EEO compliance regulations to ensure proper data collection and reporting.

Recommend content updates for website.

Provide administrative support for related HR functions including database management, survey design and analysis.

Be knowledgeable of Federal and State legislation to ensure adherence of assigned HR Programs to regulatory compliance.

Advise leadership and others on related laws, regulations, and applicable program policies.

Assist in conducting diversity focused workshops and AA/EEO training sessions for the campus community.

Conduct periodic audits and prepare reports as assigned.

Perform related Departmental duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Management Information Systems, or a related field is required. A Master's Degree is highly preferred.

A minimum of two years of experience in AA/EEO or related field, including conducting complaint investigations is required. Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to analyze and communicate AA/EEO data and concepts is highly preferred.

Knowledge of EEO/AA and HR laws and regulations is required.

Prior experience compiling, analyzing, and summarizing data for management decision making purposes is required.

Personal computing skills, including working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and statistical and data base management software applications, is required.

Prior experience administering EEO, state and local Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) compliance reports is preferred.

Experience in the interpretation and application of applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations is required.

Ability to exercise good judgment when evaluating discrimination complaints and disciplinary situations is required.

Knowledge of principles and practices in affirmative action and investigations is required.

Experience working with applicant tracking software is preferred.
