The Assistant Director for Greek Life/Advisor to the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) serves as a member of the administration of Greek Life; supervises and advises the National Pan-Hellenic Council; supervises and executes chapter and council leadership development and activities/programs including planning, implementation, and evaluation; serves as a liaison and main contact between (inter)national fraternity/sorority general headquarter offices and national, regional and local volunteers and the University and works with various University and external constituencies in the supervision of activities and goals for NPHC.

Job Description

65% Supervises and executes NPHC council leadership development including planning and  implementation, including executive board/council retreat and training; Supervises and advises council activities/programs including by not limited to step shows, NPHC week, Intake; Supervision of the creation, implementation, and tracking of NPHC budget; Serves as a liaison between (inter)national fraternity/sorority general headquarters/national, regional and local volunteers, and the University; Serves as the liaison and supporter for officers, members, and advisors. Implements training and education for students, advisors and alumni about policies pertaining to national organizations as well as the University; Enforces chapter/council compliance with University policies related to risk management, recruitment and retention, accountability boards and chapter operations. Assist with investigations of alleged misconduct by organizations. Manages and organizes data related to chapter membership intake procedures and policies; Approves all campus space requested by NPHC chapters; Serves as primary contact for NPHC community.

20% Serves as an advisor for the Greek Board of Directors and related events as directed by the Associate Dean/Director of Greek Life.  Serves as a member of the management team for the  Greek Board of Directors including but not limited to functions of Greek Week, Philanthropy, Songfest, EMPOWER weekend, and fundraising, to include the management of funds raised by the Greek community resulting in approximately $150,000.  Supervises a Greek Board of Director Committee consisting of a director, assistant director and committee members.

10% Advances the goals of the Dean of Students, Student Affairs and the University. Participates in the Greek Accountability meetings with Student Advocacy and Accountability, Greek Life, and respective fraternities/sororities. Assists with the educational programming and meetings of all chapter advisors, house corporation presidents and house directors.  Develop and implement assessment and evaluation plans for programs offered through Greek Life.  Attends all Greek Life major programs, trainings, retreats, etc.

5% Works closely with other departments on campus in serving minority students to include but not limited to activities sponsored by the African-American Cultural Center, Office of Multi-Cultural Affairs, and Campus Life supported by the members of the NPHC community.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in higher education administration or closely related field; Two to three years of professional work experience.
