In September 2018, U.S. News & World Report ranked Wake Forest as one of the top 30 National Universities for the 23rd consecutive year. In addition to the overall standing of 27th place, Wake Forest stands 13th in Strong Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching and 24th for Best Value.
As an institution that values exceptional teaching, fundamental research and discovery, and the engagement of faculty and students in the classroom and the laboratory, Wake Forest seeks a visionary enrollment leader who will grasp the exceptional nature of this preeminent university and engage in innovative strategies to enhance the University’s ability to attract, recruit, select, and enroll a talented and diverse population of students. The Vice Provost for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions will have a dual reporting line to the President and Provost. While leading a superb and distinctive undergraduate admissions and financial aid function, the new Vice Provost will be highly engaged with and responsive to Wake Forest's dedicated partners, such as senior leadership, trustees, faculty, staff, students, and alums, internally and externally.
The new enrollment leader will display a sense of curiosity that inspires creativity and also the analytical and intellectual abilities to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment and financial aid plans. The Vice Provost will possess superior communication skills, strong listening skills, and the ability to make connections across the University in order to promote collaboration and the sharing of information. In addition, the successful candidate will have a track record of admissions/enrollment success; a high level of technical competence; an eagerness to engage in meaningful interchange about enrollment priorities, challenges, and trade-offs; a nuanced understanding of the importance and impact of financial aid policy and award strategy to achieve institutional ambitions; and the ability to embrace and extend the distinct mission of the University.
