This position is responsible for recruitment in the high schools and community colleges in the San Antonio region. This position works out of San Antonio.


  • Advise students on admission requirements and transferability of courses prior to applying for admissions to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Coordinate and facilitate school visits and other programs designed to attract high school and community college students to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
  • Recruit high school students during the Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO) recruiting season and other programs and activities assigned by the Office of Student Recruitment and New Student Programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to develop partnerships between the university and local school systems and community colleges throughout the San Antonio region.
  • Replies to phone calls, and all other correspondence from prospective students, concerning admission requirements and any other general information pertaining to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
  • Implements and participates in activities, workshops with students and officials from high schools, community colleges and other universities (Counselor updates, Island Day, Community College Transfer Days, Transfer Application Workshops, etc.).
  • Keeps abreast of current information about academic programs and related student services opportunities used to guide the student through the enrollment process.
  • Participates with staff in scheduling and conducting recruitment visits and special campus events for all partners and prospective students.
  • Coordinates community outreach partnerships and related recruitment activities, including school districts, non-profit organizations and businesses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One (1) year of related experience in admissions, student recruiting, or college relations.
  • Valid Driver License to be able to travel extensively for recruitment purposes and work irregular hours during scheduled times, including occasional weekends.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and in personal computers.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 20 pounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with diverse populations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Strong customer service and public presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, initiate, and organize events.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Education, Communications, or Business/Marketing.
  • Documented excellence in a professional role, dealing one-on-one with people on a daily basis in a dynamic service-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Banner Student Information System and/or TargetX.

Pay Range:
  • $2,780 - $3,125 Monthly
