Assistant Professor, Latin America/ Latinx Literature & Culture
The Department of Modern Languages at Saint Mary’s College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Latin American and/or Latinx Literature and Culture. This is a Tenure-Track Position, which will begin in August of 2019. Field of Specialization: any area of Latin American and/or Latinx Literature and Culture. Successful candidates must be interested in and qualified to teach all levels of Spanish Language (in particular, Spanish for heritage-speakers) as well as advanced-level courses with an interdisciplinary approach to culture and literature. Teaching responsibilities include 3 courses per semester at all levels. The candidate should demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment, scholarly promise, and a desire to engage with the mission of Saint Mary’s College. Applicants must possess native or near-native fluency in Spanish and have teaching experience. Candidates will hold a PhD in Spanish by August 2019 (ABD considered).
