Data Analyst (Higher Education)

Job description



The Data Analyst responsibilities include report and dashboard development; supporting processes to ensure that data is able to be utilized more effectively for data-informed decision-making; and assisting faculty, staff and administrators in analyzing and communicating college data. The Data Analyst position reports to the Institutional Data and Analytics Manager in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the development of meaningful data and clear analysis to support data-driven decision-making.

Provide support for integration of data from multiple sources to promote shared responsibility for Institutional Effectiveness.

Serve as an ADVANCE data warehouse super-user to extract, analyze and communicate data.

Become a Banner® super-user to extract, analyze and communicate data.

Work collaboratively with various departments to review current processes related to data entry, collection, reporting and analysis with an eye for consistency, accuracy and accountability.

Assist college stakeholders in accessing data from ADVANCE and/or Banner.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Research, Psychology, Sociology, Computer Science, Math or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Two years' experience analyzing, reporting and communicating data to diverse
audiences required.

Previous higher education experience preferred.

Strong word processing and database skills required. Must have expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel functions.

Experience with statistical analysis packages (e.g., SPSS) preferred.

Strong communication and collaboration skills required.

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
