Additional Information Purpose Perform accounting and related transactions involving the recording, examination, analysis, and reporting of financial data for The UT Law School's Continuing Legal Education Department.

Essential Functions Responsible for the application of advanced accounting knowledge to reasonably intricate routines involved in the preparation of a variety of detailed regular and special financial reports and statements. Reviews fund groups for propriety of entries and takes necessary action to correct overdrafts and errors. Using QuickBooks, prepares monthly financial statements and forecasts. Responsible for collection of accounts receivable, review and submittal of accounts payable following UT System stated rules and requirements. Responsible for deposit processing, inter-departmental charges, invoicing service center work, budget and cost transfers, and coding with minimal supervision. Reviews service center rates, appropriateness of charges, and makes corrections and adjustments as needed. Performs account reviews, verbally communicates to supervisor and customers issues and policies. Reconciles accounts, reviews balance forwards and available cash for the appropriateness of amounts. Analyzes fiscal data and draws conclusions. Recognizes problems and recommends solutions.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, plus a combination of two years of experience in commercial accounting or governmental accounting. Extensive experience in the recording, examination, analysis and reporting of financial data. Expert in Excel. Expert with database applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Professional demeanor. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment. Ability to accept supervision. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Public Accounting or Business Administration, plus more than two years of experience in governmental or commercial accounting. More than 2 years of experience working with internal and external customers. Proficient in QuickBooks and DEFINE coding.

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
