University Health Services, Center for Health Advocacy & Wellness (CHAW)
Develop, implement, and evaluate population-level theory-based and evidence-informed nutrition, wellness and health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services.
Develop strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for nutrition, body image, wellness and health promotion programs and service. Develop programs that create awareness, promote motivation, and provide tools for students that help them adapt and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Incorporate multicultural diversity and social justice concepts and principles into nutrition, wellness and health promotion services.
Hire, train, manage, supervise, and evaluate paid and volunteer student staff, nutrition interns, and peer health educators. Assist leadership in development of strategic plans and goals for nutrition, wellness and health promotion. Collaborate with wellness alignment partners (University Counseling Center, Dean of Students, Campus Recreation) and key stakeholders within and outside University Health Services.
Provide medical nutrition therapy to students to include evaluation, assessment, and treatment plan development, as well as nutrition education for enhancing nutrition status.
Works with the campus community and University Health Services staff in assessing students' needs and developing and implementing nutrition programs and services.
Participates as a member of the Eating Disorders Treatment Team. Collaborates with counselors and medical staff for evaluation and treatment for students with eating disorders.
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in public health, health promotion, health education, higher education, or related field.
Two years of experience with wellness prevention initiatives/programs.
Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) which qualifies incumbent to use the title Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or RDN.
License/certification FL Licensed Dietitian
Collaborative work style with self-directed initiative with great time management and presentation skills.
Experience developing prevention initiatives/programs for a specific population.
Familiar with health promotion theories, evidence based best practices, outcome evaluation, statistical analysis, and health behavior research methodologies.
Ability to provide leadership and problem solving skills in analyzing the health needs of college students.
Ability to incorporate multicultural diversity and social justice concepts and principles into health and wellness.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication and organizational skills.
Experience with applicable computer applications and basic computer functions, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Master's degree and supervisory experience.
Experience working with college student populations.
At least 3 years of current, relevant experience in college health promotion, wellness and early intervention.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
