Position Summary

The Department of Biology at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Large Scale Ecology. We seek an outstanding individual who will develop a productive, externally funded research program of international scope and contribute to student instruction at all levels. Full participation is expected in our Biology undergraduate curriculum and Master program, and our broadly defined doctoral program in Environmental Health Science, which is directed at understanding environmental problems that directly or indirectly affect human health and well-being from the global to the molecular levels. A research focus on mammalian population responses to environmental change is desired with links between ecological and evolutionary processes on a landscape to continental scale. Expertise in leveraging large-scale biodiversity datasets and integrating genomic data with species traits or phenology is a plus. The successful applicant will develop elective courses at the interface of Ecology and Evolution and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Potential synergies with faculty in our and other departments are desirable

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Doctorate in Biology, or a related discipline, by August 1, 2019

Preferred Qualifications

Postdoctoral experience is preferred
