Position Summary

Undergraduate Administrative Assistant

The Undergraduate Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact for the Department and is responsible for answering the phone, as well as, greeting and assisting all visitors. The person in this position is also the primary administrative support for the Undergraduate and Birth Through Kindergarten Program Directors.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking care of course scheduling and classroom reservations;
  • Inputting and making changes to course schedule;
  • Coordinating the HDFS admissions process for undergraduates;
  • Running sweeps rosters for faculty;
  • Keying departmental time sheets;
  • Maintaining computer and fixed assets inventory spreadsheets;
  • Providing excellent customer service;
  • All other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY; OR DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK.



Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of work experience;
  • Knowledge of UNCG systems and procedures (Banner Finance, Banner HR, PCard, Purchasing, etc.);
  • Effective communicator, both written and oral. Strong writing skills essential;
  • Strong interpersonal, and customer-service skills;
  • Willingness and ability to promote a positive work environment;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials and matters;
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets;
  • Attention to detail with an ability to spot grammar, spelling and punctuation errors


Alternate Option

If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training & experience requirements, then management may consider other applicants. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.

Recruitment Range $31,200 - $34,000
