Minimum Education/Experience: -Bachelor's degree with five years of IT processing experience -A minimum of five years of experience in higher education is required. -Proficient in writing queries/scripts in SQL or PL/SQL. -Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure in high stress situations. -Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources.

Job Duties: Administration of the entire organization is a team effort among the Director and other senior administrators (associate and assistant directors). The Associate Director for Systems has direct responsibility for developing policies, interpreting regulations, and implementing institutional financial aid programs within the Office of Student Financial Aid. While the size and complexity of the ECU Student Financial Aid office requires that several associate and assistant directors exist to administer a myriad of diverse Federal, State, and other financial aid programs, each associate director has substantial independent administrative authority and discretion within the specific area of responsibilities assigned to the position (see organization chart for size and scope). While routine financial aid decisions are made at lower levels than that of associate director, each associate director has the authority to determine financial aid eligibility and to commit the institution to a financial aid decision independently, or an appeal from students and/or parents, based on the applications and information collected. Typically associate directors review and decide the most complex and/or difficult cases upon referral from assistant directors. Examples of specific responsibilities of the Associate Director for Systems include but are not limited to: * Testing and installation timing of all Ellucian Banner Financial Aid releases. * All Financial Aid reporting for the financial aid department and other internal departments such as IPAR. Must be proficient in SQL or PL/SQL and familiar with financial aid databases. * Creation, monitoring and maintenance of all Financial Aid Automic scheduler jobs and processes. * Overseeing and recommending efficiency changes to all system related operations of the financial aid department including but not limited to: file exchanges between financial aid and both Federal and State programs, Banner batch processing, interaction of functional and technical issues. * Maintenance of all Banner Financial Aid setup, rules and popsels used in processing FAFSA, Communication with students, Budget, Packaging/Awarding and Disbursement for multiple campuses. * Troubleshoot any issues related to a financial aid processing or reporting system. * Personnel, salary and budge administration and supervision of assistant directors and staff in the Programs section for the Office (see organization chart attached). * Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and other financial aid program regulations and institutional policies. * Liaison with awarding agencies. * Provide leadership and collaborate with other senior administrators in long-range planning.
