The College of Health at the University of Alaska Anchorage is conducting a search for a Director for the School of Allied Health. This position is defined broadly, but preference will be given to applicants who will support the School’s mission to educate and develop diverse allied health professionals to serve all Alaskans. The School currently includes programs in Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting, Fire and Emergency Services, Pharmacy Technology, Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Science, Physical Therapist Assistant, Dietetics & Nutrition, and Surgical Technology. Additional programs will be developed, as needed. Preference will also be given to applicants whose leadership demonstrates an interest and expertise in supporting and developing diverse programs, faculty, staff, and students to serve the healthcare industry in Alaska and its workforce training needs.

A qualified candidate will work with faculty, staff, students and community partners to promote excellence in the School of Allied Health's academic programs. The individual will have oversight of the School's budgets and will be responsible for the recruitment, supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff. He or she will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the School and serve as an advocate for the School's programs. Candidates are required to have demonstrated successful leadership in a collaborative team environment, significant experience working in a diversified workforce in a multicultural setting, and familiarity with accreditation procedures and national standards in the career and technical education fields. Significant experience developing and maintaining good public relations within an institution is preferred.
