ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPORT MANAGEMENT

The Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education seeks a qualified candidate(s) for an Assistant Professor of Sport Management position(s). The College of Education is SACS accredited and offers high level technological support, mentoring for new faculty, assistance seeking external funding, and opportunities to work with graduate students at all levels. We are the seventh largest public university in the state with students from 44 states and 75 countries. Located 45 miles west of Atlanta, the University of West Georgia is rapidly growing, with programs at the undergraduate level through the doctorate with a diverse faculty and student population. Our 645-acre campus offers modern, state-of-the-art facilities complemented by beautiful green spaces. - Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Management in both face-to-face and online environments, scholarly activity, and service to the Department, College, University, and community.
- Earned doctorate in Sport Management or related field from a regionally accredited institution by August 1, 2019 (ABD considered)
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Management in both face-to-face and online environments
- Established or developing research agenda
- Established or developing record of service
Preference will be given to candidates with higher education teaching experience in sport management, practical experience in sport or a related industry, a demonstrated research agenda, and documented evidence of effective online teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
