Part-time Faculty Department of Mathematics and Science

Job description

The Department of Mathematics and Science at Pratt (both Brooklyn and Manhattan Campuses), is creating a pool of part-time faculty applicants for the Spring 2019 semester to teach in the following areas:

Environmental Science

Ecology

Chemistry

Physics and Astronomy

Earth Science

Salary is commensurable with qualifications and experience.

General

Candidates must have a 2-year teaching experience. Experience in interdisciplinary activities, or outreach events, or in the interface between arts and science is desirable.

Specific to each field

Environmental Science: PhD in life sciences or related areas, or have an extensive practice in environmental sciences, e.g. green building planning.

Ecology: PhD in life sciences or related areas preferred.

Chemistry: PhD in Chemistry or related areas preferred. A keen interest in interdisciplinary areas between chemistry and arts is desirable.

Physics and Astronomy: PhD in Physics or Astronomy preferred. Candidates with outreach experiences, or public engagement, or activity-based teaching are preferred.

Earth Sciences: PhD in Geology, Geography, or related fields is preferred. Field experience is desirable.
