Service Schedule: Spring Semester
Position Description: The University of Northern Iowa's College of Social and Behavioral Sciences-School of Applied Human Sciences seeks a temporary faculty member in Interior Design. This position is a part-time appointment starting January 14, 2019 to teach a class in Design Visualization and Communication which is an undergraduate interior design studio class.
Education Requirements: Evidence of completion of a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design by January 14, 2019.
Required Qualification: Required qualifications include earned degree in interior design; at least 3 years of interior design practice experience in residential design; university-level teaching experience; ability and demonstrated potential for effective teaching in interior design studios; demonstrated proficiency in sketching and hand rendering techniques relevant to interior design practice; effective verbal, written and graphic communication skills; and effective interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include Master's degree in Interior Design or related field; demonstrated effectiveness in using teaching technologies (e.g., Blackboard); experience in building and maintaining relationships with industry; and demonstrated links with the local and regional community.
