Senior Associate Director of Housing Facilities

2nd senior administrative official in line responsible for directing a dept, division, or college and reports to a Director.



The Senior Associate Director for Housing Facilities will oversee daily operations of facilities for Housing & Residence Life, reporting to the Director of Housing Facilities. The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership, management, and guidance for day-to-day operations of Maintenance, Custodial, and Grounds staff and promote teamwork and superior customer service. They will collaborate closely with the Associate Director(s) of Residence Life and other departmental staff team members to create a seamless, safe, well-maintained residential facilities to promote the student experience in a manner that improves housing retention and supports the University goals. The Senior Associate Director is responsible for supervising, evaluating and developing an Associate Director, Assistant Director, two Facilities Coordinators, Maintenance Techs, Custodians, Grounds Techs, with direct responsibility for supervision of the Associate and Assistant Directors. They will be responsible for providing on-going staff development consistent with world-class customer service and facilities management for a large public residential life housing program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations of facilities for a minimum 5,200 beds, supervising an Associate Director, Assistant Director, Facilities Coordinators, Maintenance Techs, Custodial, and Grounds staff.

    Actively engages in recruitment and hiring of new facilities staff members.

    Review project related materials such as drawings and specifications, submittals, RFQs, RFPs, budgets, schedules, contracts and proposals for services.

    Oversee the coordination of work with contractors, vendors, and university stakeholders and departments; collaborating with EHS, Risk Management, Procurement, and Physical Plant.

    Oversee routine inspections of fire and life safety equipment.

    Oversee the work of staff including daily productivity, reporting progress of day-to-day operations.

    Monitor work order system to ensure that work orders are completed promptly.

    Coordinate ongoing meetings with the Associate Director and Assistant Director of Housing Facilities and Housing Facilities staff.

    Oversee the after-hours on-call process and schedule.

    Assists in reviewing and approving contractor and vendor work and payment requests.

    Produce reports, budgets, schedules, and project presentations for Housing & Residence Life.

    Assist in developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance plan for all mechanical equipment to include, but not limited to water heaters, HVAC equipment, and appliances.

    Coordinates and communicates with other Housing & Residence Life staff members to establish and maintain the flow of information including, but not limited to, following up on the status of repairs and maintenance.

    Assist in developing short and long-range facilities infrastructure plans for equipment, furniture, and building upgrades.

    Conduct routine inspections of facilities to ensure that buildings and grounds are being adequately maintained.

    Assist in assessing operations to ensure that residential students are provided with high-quality facilities and services.

    Will serve as primary point of contact for resolving facilities customer service related issues.

    Responds in emergency situations involving fire, flood, power outages, or acts of nature.

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related work experience.



Master’s Degree preferred + 3 years of experience in Maintenance/Facilities Management
