Drug Metabolism/Structural Biology

Assistant, Associate, Full Professor (Tenure-Track)

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus seeks an individual with research interests bridging the areas of drug metabolism and structural biology with translational application. The interests of the applicant will complement those of our current group of successful and well-funded faculty within the Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Science programs, including protein structure and folding, quantitative genetics, systems biology, transcriptomics, cancer biology and pharmacology, physical virology, nanotoxicology and xenobiotic metabolism. Preferred areas of interest include, but are not limited to, oxidative mechanisms of drug metabolism, drug transporter biochemistry and biology-based pharmacokinetic modeling in special patient populations (e.g., immunocompromised, neonate, elderly, etc.). The successful candidate will be expected to initiate a research program incorporating basic and/or translational components and teach at both the Pharm.D. and Ph.D. levels. Faculty rank and salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetic modeling, or related area, have an established record of excellence in teaching, publication activity and extramural grant support, and will be well versed in mechanistic aspects of oxidative drug metabolism and/or drug transporter biochemistry. Research leading to translational application of these mechanisms as they relate to predictive pharmacokinetic models, especially in under studied patient populations are of special interest.
