Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of U.Va.'s buildings, infrastructure and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.

We have an opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator who supports the operations of warehouses or stockrooms through a variety of activities, including inventory management and interacting directly with suppliers and customers to arrange deliveries. The incumbent performs various manual labor and clerical duties and data entry in support of the receiving, storage, processing and distribution of maintenance and construction materials.

A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of materials management experience is required. A valid Driver's License, with a positive points balance is also required. OSHA forklift certification, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire is necessary. The ability to lift and manipulate materials up to 50 lbs. is essential. Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of diverse background is required. Ability to read written materials, such as work instructions, safety procedures and material data safety sheets, as well as demonstrated knowledge of customer service standards and activities are essential. Proficient data entry skills are required. Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Outlook and Excel are required. UVA Marketplace shopper program and AiM are preferred. Significant experience in a Logistics, Materials Management, or Lean environment is also strongly preferred.
