Assistant/Associate Professor - Health Education & Promotion

Job Summary: The Health Education & Promotion Program within Oklahoma State University's College of Education, Health and Aviation is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Advanced Assistant/Associate Professor at the main campus in Stillwater starting August 2019. The successful applicant will join a collaborative team of faculty who work with and mentor our large cadre of undergraduate students and graduate students across three degree programs (MS, MPH, and PhD). We are interested in scholars who have experience in working with interdisciplinary teams of health professionals, willing to collaborate with the system-wide MPH Program and a broad range of health professionals on educational projects. In addition, future leadership opportunities on the Stillwater campus in the MPH program under the OSU Graduate College are anticipated.

Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in Health Education & Promotion that may include: School Health Programs, Health Behavior Theory, Alcohol & Drug Education, Gerontology, and Program Design. Graduate course load may include: Philosophical Foundations in Public Health, Designing Public Health Programs, Implementation & Evaluation of Public Health Programs, Environmental Health, and Cultural Issues in Health. Successful candidates will conduct a program of research and publication in the area of Community Health Sciences or Public Health; guide graduate research in areas of expertise; seek external grants and contracts; provide service in the School, College, University and Community; and participate actively in professional organizations. Other duties may be assigned by the School Head. The program is currently in the self-study phase of accreditation as a Standalone Baccalaureate Program with the Council on Education for Public Health (CePH). The candidate may also assist with the accreditation process.
