Staff Nurse/Ambulatory/UKHC

Job description



The OB/GYN clinic seeks a Staff Nurse to assist in patient care and procedures. Includes obstetrical care, GYN specialists, NST's, pelvic examinations, pap smears, biopsies, and outpatient surgical procedures. Will room patients, take vitals and record in the electronic medical record, be attentive to patient concerns and physician needs. Educate patients on various health related aspects to facilitate better patient care. Clean and prep exam rooms in a timely fashion to enhance exam room turnover. Will inventory and order supplies, obtain pre certifications, schedule labs, ultrasounds, x-rays, call in prescriptions, and fill out fmla insurance forms. Interview patients prior to physician for information concerning health and chief complaint and record in the electronic medical record. Responsible for logging results and assuring abnormal results are followed up on. Return all phone calls within a timely manner and perform additional duties as requested. Cross coverage of staff and knowledge of all pod positions.
