Congenital Cardiac Sonographer Lead/UKHC

Job description



Kentucky Children's Hospital has an immediate, full-time opening for an experienced pediatric, fetal, and congenital lead cardiac sonographer.

Kentucky Children's Hospital at the University of Kentucky is a 145 bed facility with a 12 bed pediatric intensive care unit, 12 bed progressive care unit, and 70 bed Level IV neonatal intensive care unit. Our pediatric echocardiography lab is accredited by the IAC in pediatric transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography. The University of Kentucky has recently partnered with Cincinnati Children's Hospital in a Joint Pediatric Heart Care Program designed to be "one program, two sites" with plans for significant growth and collaboration.

In addition to providing exceptional heart care (including open heart surgery), collaborative research and educational opportunities are offered.

The qualified candidate will join our energized, dynamic team performing high quality, diagnostic echocardiograms in a wide variety of settings

Required Related Experience

Required License/ Registration/Certification

Fetal Echocardiography Certification through ARDMS ) and RCCS Certification through CCI or Pediatric Echocardiography Certification( RDCS ) through ARDMS



Physical Requirements

Being able to travel long distances across the enterprise, regularly lifting, pushing and/or pulling objects over 50 lbs, regular exposure to repetitive motion, occasional exposure to radiation, hazardous chemicals, bloodborne/airborne pathogens, cuts and punctures. Intermittent job related travel.



Shift

Monday-Friday, Days (minimum 40 hours/week). 24 hour shared call rotations including evenings, weekends and holidays.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Excellent communication skills; enjoy working independently as well as closely with co-workers in a supportive team environment; customer service focused.
Fetal echo experience necessary. Intraoperative TEE experience necessary. Adult congenital echo experience necessary.

Preferred Education/Experience

Associate's degree plus 3 or more years performing pediatric echocardiograms.
