ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, Annual Giving, Digital Program Annual Giving at Boston University is simple. Each year, alumni, students, parents, and friends choose to support everything from softballs to software at BU. These gifts are then deployed to fund research, provide emergency student assistance, pay for travel to academic conferences, and lots more throughout the year. Job Scope As a key member of the Annual Giving team, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Digital Programs will develop and implement a university-wide digital fundraising strategy to increase alumni donor participation and annual support. This includes (but is not limited to) overseeing the web strategy for giving-related content, working with partners across Development & Alumni Relations to implement a digital approach for traditional appeals, and analyzing online donor behavior to optimize digital fundraising efforts. The Associate Director is also the primary project manager for Giving Day, BUs annual spring participation challenge that raised $3M from 10,000 donors in 2018. This position will be involved with the research, strategy, and execution of new online programs and platforms to engage students and young alumni, and ensure that BU continues to lead the industry in digital philanthropy efforts.


Candidates must have Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in annual giving, digital marketing, membership and/or fundraising required. Must have experience executing large-scale digital marketing and fundraising efforts. Experience with various web platforms, email marketing tools, and content management systems. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to develop collaborative relationships with prospects, volunteers, and colleagues.
