Visiting Assistant Professor, Political Science

Job description

The Program in Political Science invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 2019. Though the position is initially for one year, we expect that it will become tenure-track in August 2020. The Department seeks a scholar in Research Methods and American Politics who has a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts environment. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to teach a 3-3 load, which in addition to the Research Methods course required of all Political Science majors may include such courses as Public Opinion, Political Parties and Interest Groups, and Gender and Politics. Ability to teach Foreign Policy and/or Security Studies is a plus. A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, undergraduate education of women, liberal arts education, and service to the department and the College is expected. 

PhD required.  ABD considered if PhD to be completed within one year.  Teaching experience required.  Starting date is August 19, 2019. Classes begin on August 26, 2019.
