Communications Manager

Description:
To create and implement the communications strategy, including pr, digital marketing for HowlRound in alignment with its mission, vision, and values and support the development of strategies and tactics for the team. The Communications Manager reports to the Director of HowlRound.

Campus Location: Boston Campus

Required Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Theatre or equivalent non-profit arts experience required. 5-7 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, and/or media relations roles, and an understanding of current strategies and trends related to these fields. A creative thinker with excellent writing, copy-editing and interpersonal communications skills. Highly organized with the ability to multitask and work collaboratively as member of a strong functioning team. Working knowledge and love of of the not-for-profit theatre and performance field.

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Experience working with CRM databases, facility with Mailchimp, publishing on a drupal based online platform. Advanced Knowledge of the not-for-profit theatre sector and HowlRound’s place in the theatre landscape. Fluency in Spanish and/or French a plus.

Required Prior Work Experience:
5-7 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, and/or media relations roles, ideally in the not-for-profit arts sector.
