RESEARCH TECHNICIAN I - NEURO ONCOLOGY
Neuro Oncology

Occupational Summary

Perform a variety of technical duties involved in conducting standardized tests, experiments and determinations in support of research oriented activities at Duke University.

Work Performed

Perform basic science research experiments involving biochemical and molecular biology assays in support of Duke University research operations.

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Perform a variety of technical assays with minimum guidance. Experience with western blotting and cell culture preferred but not required.Operate laboratory equipment required for specific tests. Prepare culture reagents, chemicals, and solutions.Process clinical samples using Good Laboratory Practices. Maintain biohazard waste disposal and storage of lab supplies. Review work of lower level laboratory personnel and assist in the training of new personnel.

Willingness to learn new procedures. Able to work in a dynamic team environment. Able to keep detailed records of experiments performed. Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.
