Geosciences Temporary Faculty Pool

Job description

The College of Arts, Education, and Sciences at Clarion University is seeking to expand the current temporary faculty pool to teach various undergraduate courses in Geoscience for the 2016-2019 academic years. Applicants in previous pools must reapply to be considered. All positions are contingent upon the availability of funding.

Teaching assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following courses: Basic Earth Science, Sustainability, Meteorology, Climatology, Geographic Information Systems, Oceanography, Hydrogeology, Geography: World, Regional, or Human, Conservation, Map Interpretation, Remote Sensing, Computer Cartography, Stratigraphy and Sedimentary, Petrology, Geology: Historical, Physical, or Environmental, and Geomorphology.

Required minimum qualifications for consideration are an M.S. degree in the discipline that is being taught or a related field and demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses and completion of a successful interview. Preferred qualifications include strong commitment to education and teaching experience, enjoy working closely with students and have a familiarity with proper laboratory procedures and ethics. A Ph.D. is preferred; ABD degree considered.
