Division Director - General Internal Medicine
The George Washington University Department of Medicine is seeking a Division Director for the Division of General Medicine. The Division Director will have the opportunity to lead and grow a successful division in an academic medical setting. Tremendous growth and expansion potential exist in support of the organization’s academic and clinical mission. Non-tenure track appointments will be made at a rank of (Associate/Full Professor) commensurate with experience.
The General Internal Medicine Division Director will be responsible for leading divisional faculty in research, educational and clinical services, strategic planning, development, and resource management. He/she will also play a key leadership role.
Reporting to the Department Chair, the new Division Director will have the goal of advancing the field of GIM through patient care, practice innovation, research and education. He/she will demonstrate strong leadership skills, clinical, research, and academic accomplishments, with the ability to build vibrant, contemporary programs.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must be either an MD or DO, Board certified in General Internal Medicine, and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia at the time of appointment. Applicants must have a record of providing excellent clinical care services, and leadership in research and clinical education as demonstrated by experience, publications, evaluations and references.
