Advanced Practice Provider I/UKHC

Job description

UK HealthCare and UK College of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry seek an Advanced Practice Provider I to work within a multi-disciplinary outpatient clinic providing primary addiction treatment services to individuals with substance and/or opioid use disorder.

Ideal candidates could have experience treating patients with substance use disorders, complications of substance use disorders and/or common co-occurring medical and psychiatric co-morbidities.

It would be preferable for the candidate to have a DEA waiver to prescribe buprenorphine (i.e., DEA-x license); otherwise, the candidate must be willing and able to qualify to be certified as an office-based buprenorphine provider.

Experience with screening and assessments of opioid use disorder, intoxication and withdrawal, familiarity with conducting and interpreting urine drug toxicology results and knowledge around other pharmacotherapies for substance use disorders (e.g., naltrexone, nicotine replacement therapies) would be beneficial.
