Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Division of Institutional Advancement is comprised of the Office of Development, Office of Alumni Affairs, Marketing & Events, and Public Relations. The entire division works together collaboratively to provide private funding from external entities to support the needs of the institution including major foundation and corporate grants and gifts, major gifts fundraising from individuals and alumni; marketing for student recruitment and institutional image; enhancement with local and national audiences; major annual events in the life of the university such as Fall Convocation, Founder's Day and Homecoming; alumni and other constituent relations; producing all public relations information for all media outlets to include: print, radio, and TV. Our Alumni Affairs office assists with developing relationships with our graduates in an effort to keep them connected with the university.

Description of Work Continued:
The Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement will:

• provide a concrete vision to develop and accomplish the short term and long-term goals of the Division of Institutional Advancement;
• provide leadership in areas such as soliciting principal and major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, alumni relations, gift processing and acknowledgements, and prospect research;
• implement an integrated branding and marketing campaign for internal and external audiences;
• lead the efforts in a campaign to increase the university's endowment;
• be responsible for media relations, special events and events coordination, crisis communication, and university publications; and
• serve as the Executive Director of the University Foundation

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible management experience in fundraising, and must have earned a bachelor's degree.
Demonstrated success in general and/or endowment fundraising
Experience in developing programmatic and financial partnerships with businesses and foundations.

Knowledge skills and abilities:
The ideal candidate for the position of Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement will have

• strong managerial skills;
• excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
A master's degree.
Experience in developing programmatic and financial partnerships with businesses and foundations in a university setting.
