The Department of Human Genetics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will support NIH funded research in hereditary deafness and genetic studies of eye disease.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Working and collaborating on studies related to the research projects.
  • Ensuring the design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research and/or development in collaboration with a research team.
  • Investigating the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories to potential inventions and products.
  • Maintaining substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  • Contributing to scientific literature and conferences.


The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D., M.D., or other doctoral-level degree in a science/biology discipline. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to pay close attention to detail, ensuring strict accuracy in work.

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University of Miami School of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination.
