The Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity (CCSRE) is Stanford's interdisciplinary hub for teaching and research on race and ethnicity to advance racial justice. CCSRE houses a research institute, a dynamic set of community programs, and a family of academic majors (Asian American Studies, Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies, Comparative Studies, Jewish Studies, and Native American Studies). Across its courses, programs, and events, CCSRE supports students and faculty dedicated to studying race, ethnicity, and equity. CCSRE students and scholars approach questions of difference, inequality, and inclusion from dynamic interdisciplinary, comparative, and multiracial/multiethnic perspectives across a range of subjects from the arts to medicine, law, history, technology, economics and more. CCSRE is housed in the School of Humanities & Sciences, and partners with faculty and students across all seven schools.
The Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity seeks a dynamic and collaborative student services specialist to engage students across the university and run the operations of our academic programs. CCSRE's undergraduate programs are the core of the Center and the student services specialist is critical to recruiting, mentoring, supporting students and ensuring that the programs run smoothly and effectively.
The ideal candidate will have experience in race studies and social justice work, and be committed to helping students navigate their academic experience at Stanford. You will bring fresh ideas and a dynamic personality to engage prospective students across the university. You will also manage a team of undergraduate peer mentors to build a strong community of majors across campus.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in higher-education administration and engage a diverse community of students and scholars.
The Student Services Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Academic Programs and Community Engaged Learning and works closely with the Faculty Director of Academic Programs and other Center staff.
