Public Information Assistant
Assist in the overall public relations/communication/marketing effort to support all College operations. Responsibilities include writing and editing copy for myriad projects including news releases, advertisements, brochures, newsletters, posters, flyers, scripts, speeches, webpages and eblasts. The assistant also will serve as a liaison to members of the media with respect to distributing news and photo releases and pitching story ideas with the intent of securing news coverage. The assistant must have a working knowledge of webpage management, social media, video production and photography – periodic tasks in these areas will be assigned, including social media monitoring and administration, television script writing, editing, production and hosting and photography coverage. Coverage of evening and/or weekend events may be required.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations. At least 2 years experience in communications field. Familiar with Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Strong customer service skills, ability to manage multiple projects while adapting to changing priorities and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
