Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent or higher) in a scientific field. Teaching experience in an institutional setting which includes development of presentation material, lesson planning and participant evaluation. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent or higher) in a science education field. Teaching experience of secondary school students in a laboratory setting. New York State Teacher Certification in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science or Physics. Brief Description of Duties: Provide instruction in the Science Teaching Laboratories. The successful incumbent will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Teach content-based laboratory modules to middle and high school students.
- Prepare applicable lessons.
- Prepare and set up laboratory.
- Other duties as assigned.
