Required Qualifications: (As evidenced by an attached resume)BS (or foreign equivalent or higher) in any biological sciences (for example- Biochemistry, Biology, Physiology, Molecular or Cell Biology). Experience handling and breeding mice colonies, immunostaining, perform statistical calculations and data analysis. Preferred Qualifications: Graduate level training in molecular biology and/or biochemistry. Experience with advanced research or related laboratory activities and techniques for establishing kidney disease models. Experience with western blot, rt-PCR and cell culture. Brief Description of Duties: The Research Support Specialist position, with the expertise is required for the indicated project below.

  • Perform cell culture studies, protein quantification, RNA quantification, western blotting, RT-PCR, and immunostaining. Also, must perform data analysis and be able to troubleshoot.
  • Assist with maintaining mouse colonies, in vivo experiments involving mouse models of kidney disease.
  • Assist with lab organization, ordering lab supplies, library research, and perform inventory on supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
