Job Description

The College of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications from qualified candidates for part-time, non-tenure-track adjunct faculty positions for the Department of Social Sciences. Specialization is open, but experience with online and hybrid instructional formats is preferred. Applicants will be contacted according to departmental needs. Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes. Flexible to suit course schedule.

Required Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Sociology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Sociology or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

• College or University teaching experience.

• Experience teaching online and hybrid formats.

• Familiarity with non-traditional commuter University setting.

• Experience in culturally diverse settings.

Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, three original letters of recommendation less than one year old and bearing the writer's actual signature, as well as official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be received directly by the Search Committee Chair:

Finalists will be required to provide three current, original letters of recommendation to the Search Committee Chair at the address above. The letters should be less than one year old and should bear the writer's actual signature.

Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution by the Office of Academic Affairs, A&M-San Antonio, One University Way, San Antonio, Texas 78224. We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
