The Dean of Students Office fosters the development of leadership, civility, accountability, and responsibility in the University of North Texas student; builds community through service and involvement; and serves as an advocate for all students. This office is dedicated to supporting the UNT student who may need assistance in resolving complex personal and academic matters. We strive to help all students achieve their academic and personal goals and enhance the UNT student experience.

Job Description
The Dean of Students Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Senior Associate Dean of Students to join our team.

This position is responsible for overseeing all operations, planning and administration of student conduct. Work includes administration of students' rights and responsibilities and student conduct; collaboration with administrative departments and faculty members to promote civility and good citizenship; Title IX investigations, and responsibility for proactive discipline programming; proactive in upholding campus safety.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Conducts disciplinary investigations from beginning to completion, including Title IX.
* Follows established procedures ensuring due process, fairness, legally correct and educative procedures in administering University and office policies.
* Investigates and gives prompt attention to all problems with the goal of settling each as soon as possible.?Serves on the Dean of Students rotation and CARE team.
* Gathers and reports Clery numbers for disciplinary referrals. Ensures that proper documentation of action and records are maintained in the office.
* Advises and counsels students relative to personal, social, financial, academic and organizational concerns.
* Oversees Maxient and operations.
* Responsible for DOS assessment.
* Advises and serves as a resource for faculty regarding student behavior and the Code of Student Conduct. Updates the Code of Student Conduct on an annual basis.
* Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery and a Responsible Employee under Title IX.

Supervision Received: Receives only broad administrative guidance. Assignments are in terms of setting objectives within strategic planning goals. Employee has responsibility for planning, designing and implementing programs and projects, and sets goals for department. Review of work is generally limited to accomplishment of broad functional objectives, and conformance to policies and regulatory requirements.

Given: Typically manages large teams of professionals and/or junior managers. The job has full management responsibility including the management of numerous teams of managers/professionals, planning for the teams' future needs and operations. There is financial accountability for independent budgets and management through subordinate managers of a sizeable team of professionals.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and six years of closely related professional experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Must exercise considerable independent and professional judgement in matters of significance.
* Strong presentation, problem solving, critical thinking and project management skills.
* Strong ability to establish successful working relationships and to communicate
effectively with students, faculty, and staff both orally and in writing.
* Strong organizational, analytical, planning, budgeting and supervisory skills.
* Thorough knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student discipline.
* Ability to show initiative and productivity in the work environment.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Masters Degree and 5 years of Higher Education experience, specifically student conduct and Title IX.
