Patient Relations Assistant/UKHC

Job description



The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine seeks an individual to provide physician support with efficient patient care. The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: provide basic registration, verify patient insurance, schedule patients for one or more visits in the same day or in the future, interpret registration system screens, collect co-pays, and enter patient communication in the electronic health record. The Patient Relations Assistant will also respectfully acknowledge, greet patients, and answer phones according to established guidelines, as well as proactively identify opportunities to provide a positive patient experience by anticipating patients' needs (e.g. provide directions/wayfinding). Duties also include: monitor wait times for individual patients, resolve patient complaints in an empathetic & timely manner, and collaborate with teammates and leadership to prevent and resolve service failure process problems.

Days. 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, and other days and hours as needed.

Outpatient clinic experience preferred.
